Faxed resume and cover letter yesterday, and I haven't received any calls, should I call them tomorrow morning to verify that they received it and follow up? I did put 2 numbers on there so they could contact me.

  1. You should not call.  If they are interested, they will call you back, as long as they got the correct contact info.  Give them at least a week, they may be busy and not be able to get to it right away.  If you do not hear back in a week, consider them not being interested (this may happen if they got 200 responses and had applicants that matched up closer to what they are looking for) and in the meantime, keep sending the resumes out to other companies.

  2. Do not listen to Caroline...call them tomorrow. It shows them that you are proactive and are interested. Never wait for the other party to move first. Don't forget your main objective is to get a personal interview. Then the job. Be prepared.

  3. Absolutely do a follow up call.  You can then question whomever as to what to expect and when.  Some places say they will just keep your resume on file, others only call on a certain day of the week, but what it does is show the potential employer that you are serious about finding work as opposed to being on unemployment and having to fill out so many resumes per week to keep collecting your check.

So follow up and good luck in the job hunt.
