I kept my female betta in a 5-Gal tank by herself. She had a heater and filter. last month she started to get a little fungus type growth. I cleaned the tank treated the water and it cleared up. Once it cleaned up I stopped treatment. So it came back in a few weeks. I think I put too much of the fungus treatment in. I noticed she was acting weird today but I did not think anything of it. Now she is dead. I feel awful this was something I could have prevented. She was fine until I added more of the fungus treatment. She was eating and swimming all happy. But I wanted to get rid of the fungus. I should have done more water changes. I have been keeping betta for many year I NEVER had one get this type of fungus. How do I clean this tank out to get it ready for another? Could I just use Salt or should I use a little bit of bleach? Or would just letting it sun dry kill anything?I feel so bad I messed up big time I know exactly what I did wrong too. Have you ever done something like that?
