and his men Down Under.
The Indian team under the captaincy of MS Dhoni were ranked the No.1 Test team in the world just six months ago, but poor performances against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 in Australia, the Indian
team has lost the first three matches, and a 4-0 whitewash is on the cards.
Dev, a legendary fast bowling all-rounder in his own right, led the Indian team to its first World Cup triumph in 1983. He has pointed that everything has gone wrong for Dhoni and his men in the ongoing four-match Test series, and the fourth and final Test
commences at the Adelaide Oval on Tuesday, January 24, 2012. India currently trail 3-0 in the series.
"As a cricketer, I feel ashamed by the Indian team's performance. They are not playing well and have gone wrong in every aspect of the game," said Kapil Dev during a media encounter.
"However, it is unfair to call them names as this is the same team that was world no. 1 only about six months back and was doing well. These are the same players who have made us proud so many times in the past. But now if they are not doing well, what can
be said?"
Following dismal performance from the seniors, there have been growing calls to give the youngsters a chance in the final Test but Dev does not agree with the suggestion.
"In the middle of the series, I don't think there should be any change in the team. They are a good side. I just hope that they can put their head together and play as a unit," said the 53-year-old all-rounder.
The legendary fast bowler urged the side to believe in itself and to make a comeback. Dev also refuted the idea that Twenty20 cricket or the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL) were responsible for the debacle.
