I feel ashamed that i dont go out much?

Question

im 17 and i have great friends but i never get asked to go out or anything except for birthdays

i really want to go out with them more but i get too nervous about asking them incase they are busy or dont want to and im not very good at arranging things lol

i think the main reason i dont ask is because im quite shy and although i have gained a lot more confidence lately i still feel like i bore people to death and run out of things to say

could i have some advice please?

I know how you feel. Its perfectly normal. Just ask your friends to go to the mall, see a movie, go to cool stores in your town or whatever you have in mind. Its all about finding people who share your same interest. Those are the best friends to have. Don't worry about anything though. You are doing a great job of at least trying to go out more. Its fine to be an introvert, i am, but everyone needs some social time with others. Pick one of your friends and ask her to go somewhere with you. Its as easy as that.

You can't sit around waiting for the invites. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and go for it. Organise something or next time they're talking about doing something and don't ask you say that sounds like fun, mind if i tag along? What have you got to lose? They wouldn't be your friends if they didn't want u around! (and if they don't then you don't want them as friends believe me!)

You're only young, please don't waste these years as they are the best years. Enjoy life and go on, take a chance.
