  1. Okay so many people are suggesting tweezers which is right but your not supposed to pull it straight out. When using tweezers you have to twist it out so that the body and head come out in one piece and do not break off. I lived on a huge lot of land with 5 dogs, they never got a tick on their p***s but on other places, make sure you twist it if you use tweezers.

  2. My husband has much pity for the poor doggie.  Use tweezers to yank it off.  Just make sure you get the head too.

  3. Go to a vet to make sure its done right, sensitive area, shouldnt try to attempt it on your own

  4. talk 2 a professional

  5. uhmm if you cant do it go to a vet

  6. I'm not going to even pretend I know the answer to the Q.

You've gotten quite a few random ideas being tossed around though =P

    Poor puppy!

    Edit: Rude a$s fairy!

  7. My beagle had the same problem once. That must have really sucked.

Just have someone hold him (just in case) tug, and give him a treat. Praise him for being so brave.

  8. You don't yank it out. Tweezers yes, but pull it gently off the dog. If you are too forceful you could leave the head of the tick in the skin and that starts a whole other problem

  9. Cover it with Vaseline it will not be able to breath and back its self off.Tilks Mom

  10. Is it on his p***s or on the shaft of skin around it? IE, the lipstick or the case?

Poor guy!! I think Millypeed has the right idea. Good lord, MY p***s hurts just thinking about this and I don't even have one! =P

    Good luck!

  11. Please don't do it yourself.  Take him to the vet.  If you don't get the whole tick out--the whole head of the tick--the body will grow back and he will get all infected and be in pain if he isn't already.  Vet!!!!

  12. ask ur vet NOT  Y!Answers.

that sounds painful and dangerous C UR VET!

if u had 2, id (gently) use tweezers. make sure hes calm and sits still

    again: ASK UR VET!!!!!!

  13. don't take my answer as gospel because I got this from my grandmother.Heat tweezers with a lighter or something and press down on the tick, it should jump off but of course I have never tried this

  14. It's going to hurt him more if you leave it there.

Just get some tweezers and grab it as close to your dogs skin as you can, and pull it straight out, nice and steady, don't panic if you don't get the head, it will come out by itself.

You can apply some antiseptic lotion to the bite area, it will swell and go red but will go back to normal after a few days.

I'm sure he'll thank you for it, imagine how uncomfortable it must be having something biting on your private bits!

Don't try holding anything hot to the tick to try and get it to back out, all it does is makes the tick panic and stresses it and then it will regurgitate its stomach contents into your dog and infect him.

  15. My dad told me before to...

1.Put hydrogen peroxide on the tick. (The tick should let go.)

    2. Wait 1 minute.

    3. Pull it out carefully by they head! (the tick, not the dog)

    4. Flush the tick down the toilet.

Time for some Frontline Plus! lol

  16. You just have to take tweezers and yank it out, making sure you get all of it. That's the only way to get rid of it.

  17. Get a second person to help you out with this one.

Roll him over, and be ready with a pair of tweezers or a key and your finger. Have the second person hold a treat or something in their hand next to his mouth, and keep his attention. Rub his belly with one of your free hands and just grab the tick and pull with the other.

Treat the area with alcohol and if its bleeding, apply some pressure until it stops.

  18. Take the tweezers and grab the tick as close as you can to it's head then work it out.  I think.  I saw this on a show of Animal Cops once where the Vet said it but can't remember how to work it out.  You DO grab it near the head though.

  19. HA! Judge!!

    "That must have really sucked."

    Get it, it's a tick...sucked...*cough* nevermind.

If you're going to pull it out, you have to grab the head.

    *adolescent snicker*

My god, I feel dirty, but it's true. Otherwise it will break off the body and stay in the skin.

I have heard success with the hot tweezers and the vaseline approach, too. Just be careful with those hot tweezers! Vaseline might take some time.

  20. All I can say is Good eye girl- I would of never seen it...LOL J/k.. PUll it out with tweezers..?

  21. Just like on humans if the tick already has it's head in then it's too late!  Pulling the tick out now will only remove the body, leaving the head.  The head can become infected and be very painful for your dog.

Watch your dog, when the tick is finished feeding and it starts to move get it!  But, it could take hours. =(

If the tick isn't embedded yet then just grab with tweezers.

  22. well first try to take it out with tweezers as soon as you can before the tick goes any deeper into skin. If isn't possible, take to vet as soon as you can. If regular one isn't available go to a different one.
