I feel guilty, sad, angry, mad, disappointed, like i've lost, right after I hit my climax after masturbating. I am Christian and i have read everywhere on this topic, getting both ends of the spectrum for answers. I want to know how to stop masturbating because of the way it makes me feel... suggestions?

  1. I've been a Christian all my life and have battled with the addiction of masturbation for over 7 years. I now experience freedom and peace in Christ and seek to help us achieve similar results. I feel that it is important to note that masturbation and lust go hand in hand. God has placed in each of us sexual urges to promote and help facilitate the creation of life. However, masturbation on the distorts these urges and insteads makes us guys focus on only certain body parts of women, and view them as disposable pleasures instead of meaningful creations of God. Therefore, I would like to clarify that you cannot m********e without lusting. Let's look at it this way, if you were not lusting or sexual attracted to something, you would feel the need to m********e in the first place.

I used to believe that masturbation was also a healthy way of achieve temporay relieve. However, masturabation is a sin. The fact that you feel guilty after doing it confirms that. It is a sin because it causes damage to the body, which is the temple of God.

Though many researchers have stated that it is physically fine and natural to m********e and that there are no health risks, I would like to point out that this is not entirely true. Neurologically, masturbation produces chemicals in the brain like Dopamine that help provide the sexual "high" you feel when you engage in it. Though Dopamine is introduced to our brain's Dopamine Receptors to help us feel pleasure in the activities we do, masturbation massively and quickly FLOODs in the brain with these chemicals, making our Dopamine Receptors having to shrink in order to coup with the massive rush of Dopamine as well as allow us to claim down after the high. In the longrun it results in the size of our Dopamine Receptors diminishing, and us no longer finding joy in the simple activities we used to enjoy.

Neuro-science researchers have also concluded that this is the same chemical response found in drug addicts.

I would like to conclude once again that masturbation is a sin. However, THERE IS HOPE for everyone on experience the freedom that Jesus won for us on the Cross. Keep fighting the tough fight bro, will be keeping you in prayer.
