  1. No such thing as a stupid question, only a stupid informercial. Chalk it up as unintentional comedy. Ever notice how you never see Hammer's ball land?

Anyway, scroll down to the top of page 123 in the link below. (The page numbers are at the bottom of each page.) If you buy the stick, it might be a good idea to deny being persuaded by the informercial.

ADDED - 7/2, 5:08pm CT ... Here is a link to the USGA's list of non-conforming driver heads on which one Hammer head is listed: http://www.usga.org/equipment/non_confor...

  2. idk but the hammer is so stupid, the huge face makes it less aerodynamic anyway; catching the wind as you swing forward.. the commercial is so retarded.. and "THE HAMMER" is " SO ENTHUSIASTIC" about the new product

lol hes so faking it and well i say no its illegal!

  3. That list only shows the conforming driver heads.

The commercial talks about this "Triplekick Smartshaft", and a "shaped shaft". I don't think the shaft conforms to USGA rules.

Under the rules, the shaft needs to be basically circular in cross-section, and it needs to have the same amount of flex in all directions.

  4. umm hello the hammer infomercial is the greatest thing on tv

    Jack Hamm is my hero!!!

lol just joking the hammer informerical is stupid annoying and outdated and the club has got to be not only illegal but a huge scam (Zolex my ***)

  5. The new Hammer is conforming according to Joe's list there..  but the original Hammer with the holes in it is not conforming..  I still have that driver in my garage and I swing it once in a while..  and to hear that whistling noise brings back fond memories.. :)

  6. I'm not sure about it's legality on the course, but when I use my left handed Hammer Driver (smaller than the right handed Hammer) at the driving range, my drives are straighter (I have a nasty push hook) and my drives are at least 30-40 yards longer than my Callaway 460 driver.

I believe that the clubface's "trampoline" effect or the "triple kick" shaft are what makes the Hammer illegal for use in PGA or USGA play.

I purchased my Hammer a couple of years ago when it was in "As Seen On TV" clearance websites for hundreds less than what it was first advertised for, so I feel I got a bargain, and it looks great for use on the driving range!
