I've played 2 years of volleyball in middle school. Now I'm a sophmore in high school. I didn't try out this year or last year because I didn't know when was the tryouts. When I was a freshman, the tryouts were the first day and no freshmen knew about it and there were hardly no freshmen on the team. I didn't try out this year because it was over the summer and I had a summer job, so I also missed out on that opportunity. What I'm afraid is that if I tried out next year I wouldn't make it because I'm going to be a junior and varsity consists of juniors but I don't think I'm good for varsity and I don't know when the tryouts are. so i probably have to ask the coach when it is. should i step up to the plate with what i got or join a rec and improve my skills before next year arrives?

  1. practice and tryout also don't doubt yourself so much

  2. You should totally go for it. You will never know if you will make it if you don't tryout. And if you don't tryout and you are good enough to make it, you will have to live with the thought that you could have made it but you didn't tryout. You should still tryout and when you do, go out there and give it your all. And if for some reason they decide not to take you, DON'T GIVE UP!!!

  3. You will never know unless you TRY OUT if you don't make it, work at a couple of years and take another shot at it.GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. That would be the best thing. You could play JV as a Junior and then might be moved up during the season to varsity. The most important thing is that you are dedicated to the sport and willing to leave your hart in the court. All it takes is hart but if you want to get into volleyball you will probably have to go during of-season to practice so that the coaches could start looking at how you play and help you improve.

  5. If u want to play varsity i would join a rec or practice alot at home.... but u could do the jv team i am a freshman volleyball player and it all depends on how good u were for  them 2 yrs in middle school.

  6. Playing is always the best way to get better.  I would definitely ask the coach and play as much as possible until then.  If joining a rec league, just  make sure you are playing with and against people who know how to play.  Otherwise could be more frustrating than fun.

  7. if you want to touch up on your volleyball skills join a club at your local community or some other one. practice wenever you can and don't give up if you are rusty at a sertain skill practice until you master it. keep trying. and if all goes well you might make the varsity team.
