Question:

I feel no sympathy for weeping Guantanamo mercenaries. Are there videos of weeping 9/11 victims?

I mean who are the real victims. I'm sure there are innocent individuals in there. However, with the exception of the hijackers, everyone killed on 9/11 was innocent. Why is a weeping Guantanamo inmate news?

  1. In the United States you used to be innocent until proven guilty.

  2. I agree. Let the military take care of them not the courts.

  3. There is a law in the USA. It is not a jungle. If somebody has perpetrated a crime, punish him by all means as per the law of the land. Guantanamo is a blot on the combined conscience of America. The sooner it is wound up, the better it is for the image of USA.

As for 9/11 incidents, so far there has not been a police inquiry. There was a commission of omissions. OBL's involvement in the crime has not been listed against his name by FBI as they say they do not have a proof.

USA under GWB waged wars against two countries without obtaining any proof of involvement of them in any terrorist activity. This is a fact.

  4. I won't venture into Gitmo Detainee territory--I guess I am just too uninformed to make an accurate assessment of the situation.

What I do want to express, however, is that people believe that humans all around the world are the same, based on this ideological worldview.  Sadly it's not the case; we are not all the same.

These Islamic fundamentalists are raised from birth, to hate America and everything it stands for,in the name of Allah. These extremist beliefs and Anti-American mentalities will not be influenced/silenced/converted by do-good Westerners--ever! Believe me, Osama Bin Laden hates Rosie O'Donnell everybit as much as he hates me.

I will not condone nor will I condemn US involvement in the Middle East; it just pains me so to worry about alleged terrorists who have special diets, prayer rugs and accommodations.

Yes, most of them have been detained without being charged, but they are still alive, still afforded religious freedom, and are protected under the Geneva Conventions and (now) Habeas Corpus.

UNLIKE how our own citizens have been treated in Iraq/Afghanistan.  How many of our people have been decapitated with machetes? How many have been hung, lit on fire, dragged behind cars?

I am not even speaking of our military-- I am speaking about journalists, such as Daniel Pearl and civilian contractors, such as Nick Berg. The only (perceived) crime they were guilty of committing was simply being AMERICANS, and AMERICANS are the ONLY casualties of this war that I will weep for.

**And to all the naysayers/sympathizers: I strongly encourage you all to venture to the Middle East and befriend these people--apologize for all the atrocities the US is culpable for, make amends, make reparations--have at it.  You know how these extremists will receive you?  They will gut you like pigs, hang you in effigy, and spit on your grave--they HATE you, and that will never change!

  5. I don't believe Muslim terrorist were solely responsible for 911 to

start with. If you can understand rate of fall calculations the fastest the building could fall in a vacuum is 10 seconds. Everything else adds time to the fall air, pancake theory, failing bolts. Both buildings came down in ten seconds by the government own reports. In reality the fall should have taken a minimum of 40 seconds.

  6. Are you serious??

It's FORTUNATELY news to show everyone this awful place the US is holding innocent people. Seriously, would you be playing this "other people have it worse" card if you were there? being tortured? being kept from your family? friends? a trial? a chance? LIFE?

The US is ruining innocent lives.

    THAT'S why it's news.

  7. The media loves it 'cause they can show that the US is truly evil, making the poor terrorists cry.

Oh yeah, that's what we're all about.  Grabbing up any innocent Iraqi we can find, ship him halfway around the world and lock him in an environment where he'll be fed better than he's ever known, ....his religion respected, where he'll have better health care than many Americans.

If there was any doubt about his intentions back when he was picked up in Iraq,....they should have shot the b*****d and left him in the desert, and saved us all a lot of time and expense.

I'm not thrilled about the whole Iraq experience, but if we're in this at all, we should be in it to win, without having to worry about this kind of BS.

  8. Un-uniformed enemy combatants have NEVER been treated so well in US history, nor have they ever been given the benefits of the US civil judicial system, let alone been accorded the benefits of the Geneva Convention. Nor has any other nation ever accorded such "rights" to such people.

    Ever.

    Until now.

Great way to lose Western Civilization.

  9. The people responsible for the 9/11 attacks work in the White House and the Pentagram...err, excuse me- the Pentagon.

How do YOU know that person is guilty? The law has made many mistakes.

  10. I'm sure glad it makes you feel really good to keep innocent people locked up in a sh*t hole like that.  I sure hope it happens to you, and then we'll ask you later how you feel about it.  Might even change a right winger's mind.

  11. Americans do not punish the innocent just because they got mixed in with the guilty.  We require trials and due process of law.  What you propose is the way the USSR used to execute "justice."  Take that mess to Russia if that's what you believe.

Edit: Ah, so you believe that if our enemies act like barbarians then it's ok for us to act like barbarians too.  No, I won't allow someone else's actions to make me into an animal.
