Question:

I feel odd when guys buy me drinks. Should I just let them do it?

Sometimes it'll be a guy I'm seeing, or sometimes it's just a random guy that I make small talk with. I feel odd about it for a few reasons;

1. Will this guy expect something from me? Like a phone #?

2. Does he really want to buy me a drink and why? Or is it just a bribe to get me to talk to him?

  1. I call it  the drink for one night stand. ha ha

  2. just say no thanks

  3. drinking makes one lose their inhabition. if you want to be a self sufficient girl , buy your own drinks. if you want a guy to feel you owe them something(nookie) then be a bar slag. if you think those things are expensive (like above) then your hanging out with the wrong crowd

  4. Maybe to know u better and then date.

    .

  5. Guys generally ask a girl if they can buy her a drink so they can break the ice.  It is simply an entry to conversation.  Any man worth his weight will not expect a number, a one night stand, or a relationship simply from a drink, but that is what his ultimate goal is. It is up to you to decide where it goes. I suggest you set some guidelines for yourself.

Don't accept a drink from a man you are not attracted to.  Say no thanks, but continue some small talk.  He might actually be a nice guy.

Never accept a drink you haven't seen poured.  This is a potential "roofy" cocktail.

    AVOID these guys!

I don't see any harm in letting a guy you are seeing buy you a drink.  If you are seeing him you are already in a relationship of some form, so what more can he want from you?

Hopefully, I don't come across like I am speaking down to you.  Just my $0.02

  6. they are trying to get in your pants. they want one thing when they buy you a drink...so be careful. watch your drink from start to finish if you allow someone do buy you one (DATE RAPE). you could always give out false phone numbers like i do just to get the free drinks lol

  7. ummm number of reasons.. they like to break the ice, impress you, get you drunk for their own benefit, to flirt. i'd say generally guys would expect your number if they buy u a number of drinks and you talk to him for a while... otherwise he'd just be wasting his time. but if its just one i'd say you arent expected to give anything

  8. i never take drinks from strangers because

    you never know

they might have slipped something in there to knock you out

  9. 1. Yes

    2. It is a bribe.

As long as you know up front that EVERY (100%) of the guys that buy drinks hope somehow that you will go back and sleep with them that night. That's the truth, no matter what they say.

  10. why so serious?

    ;)

  11. They want to get you drunk and hoping they take you home.

but hey take some free drinks but dont over do it to the point where

you go home with them unless you want to

  12. Take the drink only if it's directly from the bartender or waitress and say thank you!  If a guy wants to give you a free drink take it :o)  They shouldn't expect anything in return, unless he's HOT them give him a couple minutes of your time!!

  13. He wants to do it to you.  If you still have the common sense not to go home with him after drinking those drinks, then yes, accept them, give him a fake number andd hope you never see him again.  Sometimes it isn't worth it though because then you may be forced to talk to whatever guy bought you the drink in the first place.

  14. "Can I buy you a drink" means "I want to s***w your brains out, and I figure this is the first step toward making that happen."  It's an invitation to eventual s*x, treat it accordingly.

  15. I don't buy drinks for women to get laid. I buy them cars. Actually I rent a car for the weekend and give it to them.

If I buy you a drink it's just because I want to start a conversation. If you will sleep with me for a $5.00 drink you obviously don't place a very high value on your assets and I don't want to know you. And I don't s***w drunks.

  16. u may not go with them

  17. nothings free

  18. He's just trying to sleep with you.

  19. You know, he is trying to get something out of the deal 9 times out of 10.  Dont worry about that.  Let him buy you a drink if you want one because those things are expensive.  You can accept a gift from a stranger without worrying about his intentions because he knows the risks before he buys it.  you might say thanx and walk away or you might talk to him and possibly have an awsome conversation or more.  We are in control, girl, learn how to use your tools.  If you dont want to give them your number ask for theirs...mention that if you gave every man who asked your number your phone would never stop ringing and that you are uncomfortable with that.  If you feel akward around the guy just walk away.  No need to lie or anything like that just be you

never let someone get you so drunk that they can get you in their car while you are still singing the AGEEs Bicycle theme...

  20. he sees a cute girl and wants to talk to her buy her a drink and have a little dance. then he asks can i have your number and then if you like him you give to him.

  21. Some may buy you a drink because they want to get to know you better, (have an excuse to talk to you)  While others are just looking for a booty call.  I would take the drink.  You are not obligated to do anything.  Have Fun  xox
