Question:

I feel that my hip-shoulder growth is affecting my swimming technique...?

My shoulder growth is just...odd. It causes the affected arm (during fly) to come out of the water slower than the other one, and it forcibly makes my arm bend. I've tried to straighten it while swimming, but it just won't. My backstroke also looks weird when I'm curving in and out, which we believe to be due to the differing length of my arms.

I feel like my hip growth is making my freestyle kick slower. My left hip is higher than the right (I can even feel it while typing this question and explanation), so my left leg is longer than the right. It makes me feel like my back is curving. Since my waist is starting to curve, the hip problem is obvious when I wear a two-piece.

Any suggestions on what I should do to change technique, etc?

  1. I recommend seeing a chiropractor or pt before you hurt yourself.
