I had 8 teeth including my wisdom teeth removed on Wednesday. I woke up and was in severe pain today. Well The last time i ate a meal was tuesday evening. I had 3 bites of macaroni & Cheese, 2 bites of yogurt, 3 bites of ice cream over the course since i have had the teeth pulled. I have been drinking water and stuff. But i can't eat because for one i am to sore to eat and i feel sick to my tummy. What should i do? Everytime i want to eat something even if it is 1 bite i get sick to my tummy. He prescribed Hydrocodene. We talked to him yesterday and he said he will prescribe something else since i am in pain and can't sleep that good. What would you do if you were me?

  1. The pain meds could be causing the nausea.  Ask for something for the nausea and a different pain reliever.  Try drinking Gatorade in case you are dehydrated.  Also try Campbell's drinkable soups instead of the chewable foods.  Jello, pudding etc.

  2. well when I'm sick i just get my brother to do my work and get stuff for me I love it lol but the best way is to try Air born that stuff dose not taste grate but it works like a charm or you cold just eat chipped ice that cools and taste good you also can put Gatorade in for different colors

  3. Take an aspirin.

  4. Hi,

I can sympathise with you having been through this myself.  Extreme pain can make you feel sick and sometimes it is a side effect of the pain killers too.  I know you don't feel like eating but you should try to eat something when you take the pain killers as they are very hard on the stomach.

An ice pack of frozen peas wrapped in a towel on your face will help especially if there is swelling.  The mouth rinses help flush out any bacteria that are lurking so you don't get an infection, this is  very important.

Put a peeled banana in the freezer for a couple of hours and suck on this,(tastes like ice cream) tastes great and is easy to eat and is a good food.

If you don't feel better in a few days you should contact your dentist or doctor to be on the safe side.

Hope you feel better soon, in the near distant future you will have lovely teeth and all of this will be worth it.

  5. well i think this doctor isn't trust worthy prescribing twice? that doesn't seem wirte 2 me, but he's the doctor so you probably can trust me more than him, with the tooth aches maybe just because they were pulled out or somthing like that anyway but im not quite sure i'm not and ortho.

  6. If you rinse your mouth with water and salt ( salt water) it should help with the pain and make sure to eat cold stuff like ice cream

  7. Try & have fruit smoothies, milo or soup.By not eating will make you sick to the stomach more so when you have pain killers so try & have something to eat or drink, that is why I suggest a smoothie that way it will line your stomach & the pain killers won't make you feel so sick

  8. I would try to eat some very soft food, doesn't have to be a full meal, try some mashed potato, or a banana or scrambled eggs, things like that.  Not eating will give you a sick stomach, if you start eating you will start to feel better.

  9. drink juice and eat cakes. cause the effect of anistiscia still in youre gums.

  10. Go back and see the dentist and get different pain killers.  It is normal not to want to eat for a few days after having such a major trauma as this (and don't let anyone tell you otherwise, 8 teeth are a lot to go in one feel swoop).  Try to drink a little clear soup, like consommé or broth and go get different pain killers.  You could try hot and cold packs against your cheeks, it may give you some relief.

    Hope the pain abates soon.
