  1. get a blood test for anemia

get a blood test for vitamin d

iron more iron or iron supplements

vitamin d lots of sun or supplements

    energy drinks

  2. Drink coffee.  But not in the evening, or it will keep you awake.

  3. you could have an under active tyroid. make a doctors visit

  4. sounds like you need to get your sugar checked

  5. OK. The first thing is going to be pretty obvious. First make sure you are getting enough sleep. There simply is no replacement.

Next make sure you are properly hydrated. We need 1 ounce for every 2 pounds of body weight plus 8 ounces for every 20 minute of exercise. With hot/dry days we need even more. When we are dehydrated we become tired and lethargic. When we are properly hydrated water increases our metabolism and energy by 3%. It also increases our alertness. We can get water from food and other drinks but caffeine and alcohol actually dehydrate so they won't count towards water intake.

Next make sure you are getting proper nutrition. We all need to supplement. The RDA/RDI was established as the minimum amounts needed to prevent nutritional deficency diseases. For optimal health we need more. With supplements you get what you pay for. If you are not supplementing or using a cheap vitamin then step up. Good quality nutrition will also increase our energy.

Extra stuff to add to your basic multi vitamin multi mineral supplement. Take a good multi B complex vitamin, Fish oils (omega 3s), ginseng, and kinko biloba. Pepermint is a good energizer. Green tea is also.

Another thing to look at might be weight. Now I obviously don't know your situation there but since the majority of America is officially over weight it is worth mentioning. Being over weight can cause you to be more tired too. Try some exercise and buidling a little muscle. Even just increasing your muscle mass a little should help. Muscle burns more calories than fat. Increasing your muscle mass will increase motabolism and energy levels too.

Now if you sleep long enough and do all of this you should notice a difference. If not then consult your doctor. I know people who have sleep apnia. They may sleep 8 hours a night but they don't sleep well or can't get a deep sleep. Weight is one issue that can cause this too. With sleep apnia people are usually given a breathing machine and it works wonders for their sleep.
