I fell 17 feet off of a roof. How fast was I traveling when I hit the ground?

Broke my back in three places just wondering my speed when I hit.

  1. It depends of your weight. I know there's a formula of physics for that, but I don't remember how it worked.

    9.8 meters is about 33 feet, so less than 33 feet per second... perhaps

    so you'll have to set up a proportion

    fall or get some1 to fall 5 feet(lets say they were going 2mph)

    so 17 over X equals 5 over 2

    5X = 34

    X = 6.8

    so from that you *possibly* travled 6.8mph...  

  7. I would say that it is closer to 14 to 16 mph.

  8. The speed coming down doesn't really matter as much as the stopping at the bottom.
