Hello everybody x) Hope you're all fine :)

Well, the thing is that today I actually fell off a horse ( i've been riding him for a very long time) while we were jumping. I haven't really jumped so high with him before as I'm starting to jump recently. Today, we ran towards the jump, and then he jumped some metres before the actual jump and I flew over the neck. This has happened befores but i havent fall. Sometimes he jumpes close to the jump and others pretty far away.. How can I get use to this, and what shall i do to always be ready for the jump whatever he does?? Than you so much, I really appreciate your help. Take care <3

  1. Like the other people said, count out loud, at first until you get the hang of it, then count in your head. My trainer ALWAYS had me count out loud, and now I don't even count in my head, I can automatically tell where the right distance is.

Also, don't let HIM take control. Hold thim back, while still keeping your pace, until you decide the distance is good. When it is, tell him through your body signals (a slight squeeze w/ your legs), and he will go.

Basically, tell him who is boss and tell him that you decide, he will follow your instructions (if he is obedient, I have no clue what your horse is like lol).

  2. well heres what i know - my gf used to jump with her horse.. the horse would always jump further from the jump..

so to get him used to the jump should would walk him to it and jump with him.. i mean it sounds a bit ridiculous like teaching a child but h**l its better then falling head first over his front end.

try it repetively.. hopefully this way when you get to the jump he will learn distance between himself and the jump.. able to time it correctly..

the other thing i wanted to ask.. are you holding his reins correctly when jumping with him.. he might be responding to your commands which are a little off..

try small jumps then bigger ones.. he'll get it.. h**l horses can be afraid

  3. You better get better before you CRASH ""

Your gonna get hurt running at jumps and also you better learn your distances A,S,A,P,

  4. One,, NEVER RUN

THATS WHY HE IS PICKING HIS OWN SPOTS

yOU HAVE TO GO sloooow to fences.... EVEN TROT UNTIL YOU GET YOUR DISTANCES RIGHT ,,

    How high is high ?

Never let your horse pick his own spot

you have to ride him to it

I think you better start counting

    one two three four Jump

Adjust your speed NEVER ,,,NEVER RUN ,AT this time your to inexperienced

have your Trainer help you to get your spots right

    count

If it 's 3 strides count them after you land one two three

Make sure you have the Distances right also

Please don't do that your horse, he will start to stop

and or run out on you

keep your leg on him and hold him together ,,,,,

sounds like he does not have allot of scope either

So back to the drawing board for you .. Ok
