I can lay on my side, but not on my back. It throbs at night.. I can sit in certain positions, but not lean back.. how long does something like this hurt..? could I have chipped it or something?

Anyone have any similiar experience?

  1. yeah i've done that a total of three times this SEASON on my snowboard.  It's always trying to avoid little kids too.  Anyway the second time it left me practically immoble for a few days.  After three weeks i was back on the slopes with no problems.  You sorta just have to tough it out.  If it isn't just a dull pain by the end of the first week than u might need to get it checked out.

  2. if the pain keeps you awake at night it should be checked out. i ice skate, iv bruised mine a couple of times, but iv also seen friends chippin and fractured and it takes a while to recover i found.

Like when i badly bruised my tailbone it took me about 2 weeks before i could walk and not have it bother me too much

  3. i also did the same thing boarding last season. it hurt for a couple days, and still couldn't sit in certain positions for months after. i never got it checked but seems fine now.

  4. It will take a couple days for it to get better.  Just sit around and try to relax.  To prevent that in the future, you could by some padded crash shorts.  they are a big help and protect your tail when you fall hard.

  5. This is a common injury when someone falls backward and sits down hard.  Most times it is just a bruise, but many times it is a fracture of one of the bones.  To be sure, see a doctor, not much can be done but some pain pills may relieve the pain and let you sleep better.

  6. Go to a doctor.  It could just be bruised or it could be broken.

  7. Yikes, I did the same thing snowboarding 3 years ago.  Turns out I actually cracked it.  Unfortunately there is not much you can do.  I sat on a donut for a while (I work at a computer).  It helped a little.  It took about 3-4 days before I felt any better, and about 2 weeks before I was able to play tennis again.  I feel for you.  It is miserable.  Good luck.
