I was watching animal cops detroit last night and this one house they went to was "over run" by cats...over run is an understatement. they took out like 247 cats from that house. the owner claims that it all started with one stray cat who was pregnant. I was gagging watching that episode because this mans house was covered with matted fur and fecal matter. the counter tops, beds, windows, everything was disgusting. there were cats in the rafters, cabinets, drawers, inside the boxspring of the bed and all that happened to the guy was they suggested therapy because hes a "cat collector". do you think thats fair justice for how he made those poor cats live. and the saddest part is that all the cats had to be put to sleep because they were to wild.

  1. wow. i avoid those shows because they make my cry, never fails. it makes me lose faith in humanity that is for sure.

  2. It would be nasty to enter a filthy house like that but as long as the  cats were getting food and water I'm sure they were fine. Better for some person to live in filth than to send cats out on the streets or to the humane society where they'd probably end up takin the needle

  3. there is nothing i hate more than animal abusers. how you can abuse such innocent creatures? ugh those people are beyond sick and should be locked up forever.

  4. no, i don't think it's fair to the cats.  I have seen this episode a couple of times and it makes me sick.  perhaps the poor cats thought death would be better than living in such filthy conditions.

  5. Awww, the poor cats!! That guys should be locked up!!! I love animals and I would cry if I had watched that. I don't think it's fair that he did that to the cats at all, but I also don't think it's fair that they just put the cats to sleep either. Poor little things!!

  6. Many people in rescue have had to deal with at least one hoarder in their lifetime. Many times the hoarders don't realize just how bad things have gotten or they feel that they are doing a service to the cats by keeping them all in their homes. The sad truth is these cats are often put to sleep due to how feral they have become and the generations of inbreeding that has been happening.

Hoarding is thought to be related to obsessive-compulsive disorder  or obsessive-compulsive personality disorder, which is why these people are almost always sentenced to therapy. The idea is to stop the thought process behind the problem so that it doesn't happen again.

  7. Are you talking about the one with the older guy, I think he had a dog or something too. but anyways.

I think he should just to therapy because if it is the one that i am thinking of that guy was just old and needed a friend or two or 247.  Yea it sucks but they decided to live there a STRAY cat came to his house leading other cats there.

It was their natural instinct they felt comfortable so they stayed.

It is definitely a shame that they all had to be put down though.

There are so many people like that, who have houses over run with cats, but its like its their families.

Just imagine how that man felt.
