  1. Eat the same thing you have been eating maybe a hour before you fight drink about a 4th of a cup of pure honey. You should not work out the day of the fight just go about your day just like any other day but keep your mind on what you have to do and go and do it no matter what

  2. if you want you can eat the day of the fight, but try to eat something with some protein to feed your muscles, and some carbohydrates for sustained energy, say some fish pasta or rice or meat pasta or rice at least 4 hours before the fight. because you don't wont to be to hungry as this may cause a small loss of energy. but if you eat to close to the fight your going to be sluggy at the least, and if you eat to close to the fight then you can even get stomach cramps or sickness.and when drawing closer to the fight drink plenty of sports drinks, flat for obvious reasons .this is for some fast release energy. As for the exercise or rest issue basically rest, but make sure your warmed up properly just before the fight,as this will not just warm your muscles and  stop the risk of pulling them, but get you sharp and pumped up for the fight, this way it shouldn't take as long to get in to the fight, and you shouldn't get caught cold because your not. simple basic advice just common sense, and i'm amazed your trainer has not told you things like this.HMMM no offense but i question your trainers ability to teach you to your best abilities and if so, maybe even safely. i would find your self a different gym that would be all ways giving you input and good general advise and information, about boxing and things in general .a good coach should be like your mentor, this way you build a friendship and understanding, this way you can get things through to each other, but any way i hope this has helped. and best of luck with your sparing session

  3. I usually start out with some running and biking.  Don't eat a big meal before you workout or you will feel sluggish.  Stretch your body after running and biking and do a little shadow boxing before your session.

  4. Your coach should have been over this?  But don't work out too much the day before, just some light exercises like skipping will be enough if you have prepared properly.  I'm not sure about the eating side of it though.

  5. The best advice I was ever given was simply that you should know your body best. If you know your gonna have stomach problems, then dont eat much of anything. Make sure you drink enough water though.

As for the exercise, I would say dont do ANYTHING unless you have to. If you can stand, sit, if you can sit, lie down. If you do anything you lose potency and power. Again, you know your body best though, if you think you'll be stiff and creaky if you just lie around all day, then do very light jogging or get on the treadmill for 15 minutes. nothing strenuous though. As for the day before meals, i'd recommend spaghetti and potatoes. plenty of energy for the next day.

    Good luck on your match.

  6. shadow box to get ur arms warmed up

  7. You have to eat light. If it is a professional fight, you have to do also masaz

  8. I learned the hard way that you shouldn't eat protein before a fight.

Had a turkey sandwich 2 hours before the fight and had a killer cramp almost immediately after it began.

My advice is to eat protein in the morning. Have a STRONG breakfast. Bacon, eggs, whatever. Make sure you have some protein in it for energy later on.

You should, of course, rest the day of the fight. You don't want to expend any unnecessary energy. Try meditation during the day.

The rest of the day, (and by that i mean within 5 hours of your fight) if you are hungry, try light foods. Carbs and natural sugars. Like bread, and fruit. Bananas are especially good!

Make sure to stay WELL hydrated the whole day. But, don't overdo it. If you have a weigh-in and you are supposed to make weight, you will probably come in heavier with water weight.

Relax and take your mind off of the fight until 30 minutes before, when you start getting warmed up. Don't fill your mind with unnecessary stress.

Have fun, and don't take it too seriously. Amateur boxing is like sparring. Enjoy yourself and put on a good show!
