he can be really insensitive and make mean comments and try to pass them off as jokes. it makes me really sad, and then he doesn't take me seriously.

If hes being a jerk you need to sit down and talk to him. Tell him to take you seriously and stop fooling around. A lot of problums can be fixed by a simple sit down and express yourself talk.

First and for most your dad will always be your dad no matter what. But you need to know when he is playing around and is really serious. You need to tell your dad that he needs to stop playing around with you cause you have feelings too and what he tells you that he hurting you alot. It's really bothering you and you would like to stop.

If he's belittling you and not taking you seriously,then you don't have

to take him seriously either. If he's a jerk,dismiss him as such and

keep his involvement in your life to a minimum unless he changes.
