I am prior enlisted Navy and decided to think about the Navy Reserves. I met with a recruiter and filled out a medical form, the recruiter said it has to be approved by MEPS and I have taken no urine test yet, now I am having serious second thoughts about getting myself into this. I didn't know about having to sign a contract and my recruiter made it sound like I could quit whenever I wanted but now that sounds fishy. Does anyone know if it's to late to say never mind?

  1. Nope, you can still change your mind.

  2. As long as you didn't sign your contract, and swear in at the MEPS...then your able to back out. However, I found out later after the fact... you are in the Reserves once you swear in the first time.

  3. You should be able to back out just don't let them pressure you into signing anymore documents.

  4. no, its not too late to back out. You have not signed a contract and you have not been sworn in.

  5. Have you taken the oath? No signature on the contract, because you yet have not completed the physical. You have no commitment as of yet.
