I find my Britta filter has some green algae looking stuff in the tap and bottom of the dispenser

Every time I change the filter I wash the whole dispenser

filter should be changed every six months

ps - do you pull the filter apart before cleaning , ,  some do some dont

if so you should pull the filter apart , if it dosnt then time for new one

I would sterilise it with Milton or some similar product for sterilising babies bottles.  This was actually the reason I stopped using Britta water filters.  I felt I was filtering out the chlorine etc. but putting the family at risk of worse things.
