I didn’t pick up lesson for 1 month & I forget my driving skills so how do I pick up my skills again? I am driving auto car - I am not a rich person & it's hard 2 get money 2 book 4 another lesson. I fail my driving test & tis is my 3rd time because I got problem at home & I am stressful & tis time I want 2 pass & get my license. I have book only 1 lesson & e lesson is 2 hour & it's on 23/09/07 Sun afternoon & e test is on Mon. I only know how 2 drive well without jerking e car, my turning is ok in e circuit, my parking is ok, but my lane changing on e road, turning on e road is too wide & slow, then turning e steeling wheel too slow & then making a move in e u-turn I take long time 2 make decision 2 move then all cars pick up. Do u think by reading book about e turning point, then do e u-turn, then hand on hand turning e steeling wheel & remember it tat I can cope my driving skills?

  1. You should read the Book of Driving, you can get this book in Department of Licensing office. There's no hurry behind the wheel if you have doubt.. This is Life and Death situation.

You practice driving first not in the traffic road or in the mall parking early in the morning before the people come. You can do it, needs more practice. Don't Drink and Drive also.

  2. As they say, if you want to get to Carnegie Hall, you have to "Practice! Practice! Practice!".  The only way to learn (to do anything) correctly is to keep trying until you get it down to a science.

I'd suggest you try to relax (but don't fall asleep) and listen and watch how others are driving, then emulate their good habits (and ignore the mistakes and bad habits).

As for the reason why some people learn quicker than others?  Some people are naturally more adept at learning any new skill more rapidly than others.

Relax and good luck! (It's not that difficult)!

  3. u have to keep practicing. maybe there's an empty parking lot somewhere u can go to.  on the internet u can find sites that offer driving hints, (look in google) . some ppl are fatsre learners when it comesto driving. other just cant understand what to do exactly on the road.  but its not ur fault, just take it one day at a time. ( i start my driving lessons in january) if not i would've given some pointers.

  4. From the way you write,

    1) you probably take yourself way too seriously - 1 huge factor you are subconsciously placing your own 'barrier' in this and probably other 'landmarks' in your life.

2)you place far too great a value on the de-merits of failing than on its merits

3)if you do take up the advice from well meaning people here, you'd probably end up feeling just as lousy after seeking out people who have passed in a short time bc who will consciously give you good ego feelings about yourself when it's so natural to strut their own.  (however, pls don't misunderstand that I'm being disillusioned about people in general bc there are the really rare ones who truly empower others without expecting immediate returns)

4)you have good technical questions re driving itself... stop asking 'why...' , ask 'how do I ... if I do it this way or that way, would I...' .

5)perhaps you need to find some other less 'driving' kinds of skill to learn first; gain confidence in those first; as graded exercises to develop without having to feel like you 'have to' achieve a certain skill by a certain set time/standard, according to the world's common standard.

6)do something for your own self-esteem, take time to enjoy it and thank God for giving you that good feeling.  If you can mulitipy that many times, think of the benefits that will give you in other works!

God bless, I hope this helps!

  5. you need a friend, acquaintance or relative who knows how to drive to take you out in an empty lot and you practice.

You can ask the drivers license bureau to give you a book and you read it, then have someone go with you and you drive on some country road where you can't hurt yourself.  Once you have control and confidence you can go onto a 2 or 3 lane highway.  For a while you can always drive in the right lane, only going into stores from that right lane, and only making lefts at signals.  That way you won't be stressed out in turning and changing lanes with a lot of other cars...until you can get in more practice.  Make sure the car insurance is up-to-date and that you have a spare tire.
