If you HAD insurance but just didn't have your card, go to the court date and show the judge your proof of insurance. They will then dismiss the case/ticket.

If you didn't have insurance, you will have to pay whatever the fine is in your state. I know here in IL its up to $2000

When you go to court, take proof of insurance with you. As long as you had insurance on the day you were pulled over, the charge will be dismissed.
