I forgot the password to my computer account?

i am on the owners right now, i have windows xp. i have completely forgotten the password. how do i get it back?

go to start and then control panel

from there user accounts and change an account

click on the right account and change the password or remove the password and make a new one

If you have the windows xp installation disk with/without the product key, then can help you login again into your computer, but can't post the steps here.

Only way is to crack it Boss. do a search on Petter nordahl and use the cracker there. Very good utility. When you go through it, blank the password out though. it works better then trying to reset it, and make sure at the end you quit out, and not just end it or it wont write the new sam back to the file system

If you don't have the old password, you can't change it to a new one. Odds are, though, that you can get into the administrators' account. Turn the PC off, wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on. As it is loading, Press 'delete' over and over. this will take you into setup. In setup, you will find a way to turn off passwords. Once that is done, restart your PC, pressing F8 as it loads, this will let you start in safe mode. Remove all user accounts, saving personal info in folders for the time being. Then you will be able to restart normally, creating new user accounts, or not as you choose.

If your PC asks for a password to do any of this, leave the box blank and press enter. Likely there is no password for the administrators account, which is not listed in user accounts. If you have any problems, feel free to message me.
