I forgot to buy ginger. What else can I use?

Also in a pie recp it includes a cracker crust, I have no crackers Is there anyway to make one?

  1. Garlic ,strong flavor it goes well with ginger.

    For the cracker crust, maybe you can use  breadcrumbs?

    If you don't have any put some bread in the oven, let it dry and than crumble it in the food processor.


  2. Graham cracker crust?  Many pies use chocolate cookie crumbs or Nilla Wafer crumbs.  What's the filling?  

    Ginger -- nothing can replace it as it will completely change the flavor.  However, a cinnamon-flavored filling will go with a chocolate crumb crust.  With Nilla Wafers, try something with cinnamon, nutmeg, mace, or allspice -- take your pick from several different spices to create a zesty flavor.

  3. You might could crush up cookies or cereal with butter and sugar and make a pie crust.  I guess it depends on what you're making.

    Any pie type spice would probably be good in lieu of ginger - cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, etc.  

    Did you know you can freeze fresh ginger?  I didn't....  just peel and grate what you need off it and stick it in an air tight container in the freezer and it lasts a long time!  Nothing really beats fresh ginger.  lol
