I found 3 lil black birds

I found the cutest lil black birds but i had to put them in a box cause the nest was to high and we have a outside cat. i hope the mom feeds them?

The nest was too high? That makes no sense. It should be high so that nothing jumps up and eats them, like your outdoor cat.

Putting them in a cozy, secure box in the same tree should be fine. The parents will find them, and birds aren't sensitive to scents, so they should just start taking care of them again. Don't worry too much!

Give it one day, and watch them closely. If the mom does not come back or comes back and ignores them, then take them to a vet or some other type of animal health center you may have to take car of the birds. I recommend highly against caring for them yourself unless its the absolute last option because they are very fragile.

try to wait a few days and if the mom still doesnt feed them then take them to some bird place or a vet or something like that.

Put them in a makeshif nest. To do this get a coolwhip bowl and place holes in bottome for drainage. Then put tissues in for warmth. Put the babies in it under a safe place near as possible to the nest. Try to keep our cat inside while they are near as when they leave the nest they live on the ground for the first few days until they learn to fly. These are called Fledglings. The parents will feed them wherever they go. They recognize the babies crys and the baby does theirs. Secure the nest so it does not fall like you can nail to tree trunk up high under branches by securing with a nail through back of bowl. Then hide and watch. It may take some time for the parents to return. If for some reason they do not then you need to keep babies warm and call a wildlife rehabber or vet in your area. This is free for wildlife. Some vets will take them or tell you where to bring them. Then they will be raised until ready for release. If you have to feed them get some mealworms from pet store and cut in half and put in mouth whenn they gape. Also can give handfeeding formula available at pet store. the box may scare the parents so I would do the nest thing. Good luck and nice of you to care for them.
