Question:

I found a 5 dollar bill with a stamp that says "mutilated." What's this all about?

I got it in some change received from a purchase. It struck me as strange....who knows, though?! Let me know what you all think, and if there is a site where I can see the same kind of thing (not just randomly mutilated bills--like those stamped by individuals with quirky sayings!) and what it is all about? Is this normal? Is there any worth for this bill over five dollars? What should I do with it?

  1. I would suggest putting a picture to see exactly what you mean I found 2 dollar bills that have WheresGeorge.com on it, I never went to the web site though. Thats also creepy did you google it?

  2. it was probably stamped that way in a store or a bank, and accidentally handed out or lost.  as long as you can see both of the serial numbers on it, its ok, and your bank should take it!  :)

  3. Go to Wheresgeorge.com and see if it has a history.

  4. it says to mutilate is to make imperfect by damaging it. prolly means it's ripped or crumpled...somethin like that

  5. i dont know what mutilated means. but that sounds strange.
