  1. Hey SeBas

If you like the guitar that much, you will play on anything. I started on a piece of sh.....t and paid $59 and the action was bad and everything else. But, i loved the instrument and today own a few fenders, Gibsons Les Paul 1963 etc..

What you do is change the strings and put .009 because I probably suspect the action is hard on this guitar.

As for the sound or tone....its irrelevant. As long as you play clean, use alternatie picking on every notes, that is the secret to good playing and also, practice every day even if it is for 30 min.

When you get good, you can buy a good one when you can. You will appreciate that new guitar much more because you would have played on a cheap guitars. The change will be rewarding.

    Go for it !!!!

  2. It's decent for a beginner like yourself. I'd say go for it.

  3. If you are 14 and dont have money, this looks great. A whole package to get you started, thats all you need, really. Just remember, its how you play, not what you play. If you get good at playing, THEN it will matter how much quality the guitar has....

  4. I'd keep saving for something that will last you long term.  I don't know if you own an acoustic guitar, but that would be another option.

I'd look into used guitars also.  Especially at Pawn shops or local classifieds.   Go with somebody that knows how to play if you're a complete beginner so they can help you shop and give some input on the action, sound, quality and flaws of the guitar.

What you don't want is to shell out what money you do have saved up and end up unhappy.  That just leaves you in the position of not wanting to practice and play.   And with this guitar you are left with very little resell value.

Some guitars like a Yamaha or a Fender Squier are popular first guitars, but I'm not going to say what you should get because in the end it's up to your preference with how it sounds, feels and plays.   I would stress though to shop around a bit before taking an ebay risk.   At least if you shop around you can get an idea of what guitars you like first.   I'm not a big fan of ordering off ebay, but there are some deals there (moreso with used).   I've bought 2 acoustics off ebay and one was damaged during shipping.  The other was a total steal, saving me about $600 (USD) for a mint condition guitar.

When shopping around, hit up some local smaller shops before you look at the big chain stores.   The smaller shops tend to be much more knowledgeable and less pushy vs a big guitar chain (2 near my city) that have some poor salesreps that are just looking for commission and have surprised me with how little knowledge they have : (    Not all are that way of course, but I've found the smaller shops better.   If you can go with a friend and check pawn shops, then you may save even more on something used (don't be afraid to offer less than their asking price).   Play an Epiphone Les Paul and see what you think and use it as a price and feel comparison to some other guitars (just my suggestion).

Good luck and rock on!   Take your time with your purchase so you can play it for quite awhile without the want/need to upgrade.
