I found a Motorola L7, and...?

It's locked. Like, the person put a security passcode on it, so I can't even get anywhere before putting in the code. I found it in a vacant apartment. I was wondering if there's anything I can do to get into the phone, like a universal code or something...Thanks!

  1. have you tried

    0000

    1111

    1234..

thats the stock code on alot of them.

  2. Usually it's the last four digits of the phone number, so if it's written on the cell anywhere or on the battery you could try that, or just bring it to it's carrier and have them unlock it?

  3. It depends:

If it prompts you for a PIN: If you put in the incorrect PIN 3 times, the phone will prompt you for a PUK (Personal Unlock Key) code. If you enter this wrong an additional 10 times, the SIM will be completely locked and useless. The only way to retrieve a PUK code is by contacting the carrier and having to validate the SIM card owner's account information.

However, if the phone is a SIM-less phone, your options are limited. You can try "Power-Cycling" the phone by removing the battery from the phone and leaving it out for 10 seconds. When placing the battery back in, and it still prompts you for a password, contact a carrier's technical support to see if they are capable of assisting you.

NOTE: Most Carriers DO NOT SUPPORT 3RD PARTY PHONES. The Technical support you'll receive will be limited.

  4. If the owner put a security code on their phone there was a reason for this and if it is a sim pin you will end up destroying the sim card and render it useless if you enter the wrong code too many times and if it asks for a PUK code you have to get this from the carrier and must be able to verify the account.  If it is a user set passcode the only way around this is to have the phone reflashed and Motorola charges $100 for this; not including shipping and handling.  Do the right thing and take the phone to a store owned by the carrier, who's logo should be stamped on the phone, so they can get the phone back to it's owner.
