I found a Parakeet outside my house I have it in a cage and gave it food and water will it be OK?

I went to the pet store and got some food I'm just not sure since it has been outside if there is anything speical I need to do it didn't try to bite me I want to keep it

Do you wanna get used to it? Talk to it nicely. Touch the cage. Poke your fingers throught the little are holes in the cage. When they get used to it take a snow glove put it in your hand put a little bit of birf food in your palm and then stick your hand in its cage poke its belly/tummy (same thing) push it back enough so like it nearly falls off the perch. It will fall off the perch or step onto your finger if it doesnt want to get hurt. Do it everyday maybe it will get used to you.       :)

most likely you have somebodies escaped pet. when hungry these birds aren't used to fnding for themselves and will look to their main source of food which has been a human feeding them. watch the bird's droppings, if they are runny then it is ill and will need medical attention. also be aware of sneezing or ruffled feathers. the feathers should be smooth and silky looking. any mussed or puffy feathers indicate ailment. an ill bird will sit low on the perch with its eyes colsed and on one foot for long periods of time.

if your bird does not exhibit any of these signs then rest assured it is healthy and no special mdical care will be needed.

u should get it checked out by a vet to make sure it is 100% OK but other than that is should be fine that is how we got ours and she lived a long time

ummm well maybe he is jsut in shock right now and you should jsut leve him alone for the rest of the day and tomorrow morning check on him and if there is any p**p stuck on his butt he might be sick. pretty disqustng huh???
