I was wondering if you can tell me what the mother robins eat so that mabey I can put it in the tree or on the sidewalk so the mother can eat it then give it to her young. Can I do that? What do Robins eat?

  1. Bugs, worms. The mom will find the food OK, just stay away from the nest so you don't scare her away. Watch with binoculars from a distance. If you have a cat, deal with that, too.

  2. Robins eat earthworms, caterpillars, and adult insects like crickets, roaches, grasshoppers, and katydids. The babies eat the same diet, brought home by both parents. If the nest fell out of a tree, it is probably hopeless to expect the parents to return and care for their young. You can try to raise them yourself but it will require a huge commitment of time and energy and insects. Good luck!

  3. nuts berries worms but the mom can handle it her instinics will help her through it
