  1. Find out where your state Natural Resources Dept of Wildlife has a sanctuary to take care of injured wildlife. Call a vet and they should be able to tell you where to call.

  2. you're supposed to leave them because that's how they learn to fly

i read it in the paper the other day

the spca gets a whole bunch of them every year because people think that baby birds have been abandoned but really they're just learning to fly.

    just put it back yo

  3. feed him wet catfood is the best thing mashed to an apple sauce like texture feed him with a straw no water!!!! keep him in a box and change thw box ofter feed him every 30 mins to 45 mins not much though about  half a teaspoon we had one and dont through him up to help him fly look up on youtube feeding baby birds and go on my page look at my friends go to mary then go to her friends go on foster bird mommas page and she will have things you need to know hope i helped!

  4. oh! i was in that situation yesterday! call the local vet.. theyll pick it up and care for it or theyll give you the number of a local animal rescue center... either way the bird will be cared for!

  5. dont touch it with ur bare hands (human scent is hated by birds- the mother or spouse or something wil  abandon it)

wash ur hands with soap and water

put on some gloves (latex or rubber)

place it in a baren place.

DO NOT PLACE IT IN A TREE!!!

if its injured, and it falls, it might die.

if u want to norture it,

    get a box or cage

    and bugs

and dont let it move alot

try taknig it to a clinic

  6. Throw it back up to a tree limb the mother should coax it back up to the nest.  It's learning to fly.

  7. take it to a shelter or sumthing!

or keep it in your backyard!

  8. As long as it isn't a dove or a pigeon, he will be easy to care for.  Soak some hard cat food in water until it is soft.  When he gets hungry, he will lift his head and open his mouth.  Simply drop a piece of food in his mouth...it's easiest using tweezers.  Feed him till he stops fussing.  They are quite easy to care for.  Just keep him from being chilled, away from your other pets and watch him grow!  You will have to change his bedding (I would just use paper towels) several times a day b/c they do p**p a lot.  Once he gets a bit older, you should start letting him eat mealworms, which you can get from any pet shop.  He will have to learn to pick them up on his own.  Next, you can help him learn to fly.  When you release him, keep some food out for him each day until he stops coming back.  Email me if you have any more questions.  Best of luck!

P.S. Mother birds don't leave their babies if they have been touched by a human.  They don't  have a sense smell.   If you think mom is out there and the little guy CAN fly, put him back out.  She will take him back.  :)

  9. If the bird is fully feathered, it is most likely a fledgling and has left the nest on it's own and it's parents are caring for it. It is normal for birds to leave the nest before they can fly. You need to replace it where you found it..preferably in a scrub or tree so it is relatively safe from predators, and the parents should come back to feed it. If it is unfeathered...then look for a nest and if you can find it...replace it into the nest. Do not worry about your scent being on the chick..birds have a very poorly developed sense of smell and will NOT reject a baby that has been touched. If you cannot find a nest, get the bird to a local wildlife rehab for it's best chance of survival. Also, keep in mind, it is illegal for you to try and raise this bird on your own. Look for a rehab here:

  10. TAKE IT! and... idk..... give it to someone

  11. Leave it where it is!

It's mother is probably watching it from a tree somewhere and the minute you interfere she will abandon it.

  12. Teach it to pickpocket people and reap the rewards! mwahahahaha!

  13. ...if it was only a matter of hours ago, put it BACK near to where you found it in a safe location. Mom and dad will do what they can for it. ...let nature take it's course.

if you have never reared a small animal before, you are screwed. Better start reading all you can on how to rear a baby bird.

Speaking as a professional animal habilitation / rehab specialist, you ought have tucked the little guy into a nearby bush or something where he could have cover. Mom and dad know  / knew where he was and were prepared to care for him, despite the situation. .....your actions were noble but .....likely unnecessary.  Go to PETCO or PETSMART and get books about how to care for baby birds. If you know the species of bird, all the better. If you can sucessfullly rear this bird to adulthood, you will have an unusual companion until it decides to go free....

good luck...and ignore anyone who tells you your scent on the bird will make the parents abandon it. It's not scent...it's Time. The longer the baby is away from the attention and presence of the parents, the more likely the parents will cease to recognise the youngster as thier own.

  14. Make it a nest and care for it like you would as if it were your child.

  15. Well, if you have alreayd touched it, the mom wont take it back. I would take it to an animal shelter or clinic where they will take the baby bird for free and make sure it is okay.

  16. ah backyard maybe?

    poor birdy =/
