Please answer only if you are informed.

I am guessing it is western fence. it's about the size of the first link of my thumb.

I was wondering where are the good habitats for baby lizards. I know a shady place around a mile away where similar big lizards hang out, on rocks, or I can put it in my backyard which is hot and open with few rocks, or somewhere else i haven't thought of yet?

Please answer as soon as possible (or else it's shady rock place)

  1. Lizard parents don't provide care for their offspring--they deposit their eggs in an appropriate location and then go about their own lives. Even newly hatched lizards are independent creatures. Unless the animal has been injured, young lizards do not need help from humans. If the lizard has been injured, contact a wildlife rehabilitator for assistance.

  2. It came from your yard; just put it outside.  Its parents are there and its clutch-mates.  Of course they won't know each other, but it's obviously a good lizard habitat, or they wouldn't be breeding there.

  3. Most lizards like that (Sceloporus - fence and spiny lizards, swifts) are territorial, but not to such an extent that letting it go outside would pose a problem.  And, it is highly unlikely that it would keep trying to go back in, unless you've created the ideal lizard habitat in your house.

  4. Your back yard will be fine.

  5. in a tree?

  6. just put it in your backyard...anywhere! in a bush!!
