  1. is there a spot in your pond where it could have gotten out?  If so, he may have left.  If not, he could be hiding in plants.  Watch for him to come out when the sun is out

  2. it could be hidding in the side of your pond under a rock, it could have left, or it is just sun bathing.

  3. turtles like laying in the sun, so when its sunny out look for it laying on wood or something black...it could of ran away.

  4. Considering you found it, it probably went to find it's real home. You really shouldn't take wild turtles home with you. It is good that you got him out of the road, but you should have just set him on the side of the road or near a pond in the area in which you found him. Wild turtles stay wild. I doubt you will ever see him again.

  5. It could have ran away. Or it could be underwater in a corner or something.

  6. he is hiding.

wait till it gets hot out and where ever the other turtle basks during the day he will be with that one. They arte very social animals..

Sliders, Cooters , painted ,map and yellow bellied are require the same care and feeding. I have two Sliders that are 36 yrs old!! Plus an 8 and 5 yr old.

I have had them in a pond for about 6 yrs now..
