This morning my mom found two babies, one already dead in a pile of leaves in our backyard but the sibling flailing eyes closed. I put him in a small box filled with tissues, actually fed it thrice this morning with some bread crumbs dipped in milk but I don't even know if that was right? I don't really know what to do now, how do I take care of it? It's currently very still. But alive, I want it so badly to survive, please help!!

  1. Yes, as the above answerer said, grain and seeds are a good diet. However, if it is very young then it may be unable to digest them.

  2. Don't give birds milk.

If you have high-protein puppy chow, let it soak until it's so soft it's falling apart, and feed it with your pinky finger, nail cut off. DO NOT feed it with an eyedropper, as some will tell you, because birds get water in their lungs very easily, causing pneumonia.

  3. If you have a pets mart or other pet store look for any baby bird formula. I use exact when feeding my baby birds it is for all baby birds. As soon as you can keep it alive I would look for a wildlife rehabilitator because it is illegal for an unlisenced person to care for wild animals

  4. Everyone gives everything they find bread and milk. Unfortunately this very often is fatal for them. If you really want to feed it then feed natural things. A tree sparrows diet is one of weed seeds and insects a house sparrows diet is the same but also eats grain. Grain maybe to hard for very young so stick with insects etc.
