I found a beetle outside that was about an inch long and looked almost exactly like a ladybug?

It was a little more orange, but it looked exactly like a ladybug, only an inch long. What was it? I am in Ohio.

A Japanese Beetle. They bite pretty hard, and swarm houses in the Fall. I hate them!
