I found a bell this morning?

Question

This bell says Chiantel Fondeur on one side and 1878 saicnelecier on the other. I`m pretty sure it`s brass. do you know where it`s from what it was used for or anyother information on this bell

I just Googled it and it said it was used for a cow bell ;))) It also had several pictures. Go Look ;)))
