Ok, so I was taking a nap in my bed, when all of a sudden I felt something crawling on my hand. When I looked, I screamed (lol, I'm VERY afraid of bugs) and I shook it off my hand. I got up and it landed on my pillow so I started to look for my glasses so I could see it and get rid of the bug. Welll, I couldn't find my glasses so I ran outside to my dad. He was talking to my neighbor so I waited, and when we finally went back in my room it was gone.

Anyway, we couldn't find it, and right now I'm cleaning up my room.

What could the maggot-like thing be? It was sorta fat, not very long (about a centimeter), orange-ish-white and I don't think it could fly. Oh, btw, I do eat in my room, it's really hot in here (although I have the ceiling fan on), and it's sorta messy, because I'm in the process of "reorganizing" my room.

What could this bug be and how can I prevent more from hatching? And also, how can I kill or lure the bug(s) away naturally? Any advice is great.

  1. i wouldn't worry too much about it if you only saw one...if you start seeing more then you might possibly have a problem...keep tissues around to kill one/them if you see them any more....search for food in your room....have your dad put up bug repellent around the house.

  2. do you have old meat in your bed, if so then it was probably a maggot. you can't leave that kinda stuff lying around you know.

  3. Eeeeeeeeeeeeek! Call an exterminator.  THat bug you found could have laid a million eggs.

  4. Maggots are white and milky colored.

Keep food out of your bedroom ~ keep it clean

You can only exterminate to get rid of the bugs that are already there or about to hatch.  You can try over the counter sprays ~ Black Flag, etc.

  5. yuck... I hate bugs too... allI would say is clean your room really well...

check your cover before you sleep...

I used to live in the basement... I couldn't stand being with my older sister....

so every night I checked all my bedding before I went to sleep...

if you only saw one... I say you are ok...

I would keep an eye out for it for a while...

maybe you could get some indoor bug spray?

the kind that protects your roomm

all I can say is try to stay really neat...

if there is no place for them to hide... they won't stay

    good luck!
