I found a bump on the top of my kitten's front paw....?

She's a new 6 month old kitten in my house, and her and my older cat have been "rough playing" while getting to know each other. Could it be possible that the bump is a result of a bite or a scratch? It doesn't seem to bother her when I touch it. It's grey, hairless and not bigger than any of her foot pads. Thank you!

  1. If the bump is not bothering her than it is not a problem, but if it is irritated by it than get the vet to check it out when u take her in for first needles.

  2. ohhh.. thats normal don`t worry trust me I have a cat

  3. She probably got nipped.  Just watch it and make sure it doesn't abscess.  Cats have a venom or poison in their mouths that help to paralyze prey and it will cause serious injury to other cats if not treated.  If it looks tender, red, puffy or it smells take her to the vet.

  4. Sounds like an abscess - the hair loss tells me that. Monitor it closely and go to the vet if you have any doubts. She may need antibiotics.

  5. Hmmm I would take her to the vet.  It could be an abcess, or it could be her bone.  My cat has one of her pinky toes that came out of its socket probably from a jump, and the vet couldn't get it back in, and couldn't guarantee it staying if they tried, and since it was a pinky, we opted to leave it.  THe only thing is she could get arthritis in it, and now I have to trim that claw.  But that bump could be somthing like that.

Is the bump hard or soft?  Like a bone,or a sac of fluid built up.  You need to know and so I would take her to the vet.
