  1. yep Enjoy!

  2. Beer...regardless of the born on date is ALWAYS safe to drink. It just may not be pleasant when you do.

Just a little background before we begin...I collect and age beer as a hobby. I currently have over 300 individual bottles in various stages of aging, including several Westvleteren 12s (considered the best beer in the world by many).

Even after expiration...which is generally 6 months from the born on date...there is nothing in beer that can harm you. However, cheaply made lagers (generally the only ones with BODs) have a flavor lifespan up under one year. After six months the flavors and carbonation will begin go. After 9 months it will taste and feel flat and around 12 it will be unpleasant in most cases. Still drinkable...but not enjoyable.

Truth be told however...nobody can really tell exactly how the beer will hold up. The date ranges I gave you are a generality...a best guess by connesiour. You are best off trying the following steps.

    Chill one.

Open it. If there aren't any immediate "off" aromas...

Pour it. Besides the fact that beer should always be poured for proper flavor development, this will allow you to see if any changes have taken place in the beer.

Smell it. 90% of our taste sensation is based on smell and sniffing your beer before consuming will increase enjoyment. In our case it will tell us if anything bad has happened. If it smell good...

Sip it. Hold in in your mouth, don't swallow and taste it. If it tastes fine, it is fine. Chill the rest and enjoy.

  3. No, usually 110 days from the "born-on-date" is when its the best.  I would say that beer is skunked...

  4. safe just not real fresh

  5. The born on date is given so that you would know the freshness of the beer, it should be good for about 100 days after that date, given that the beer is about a year old though, i would say that it is safe to drink, BUT that is going to be some of the nastiest p**s water tasting beer that will ever hit your taste buds, believe me ive tried it.

  6. Of course it is safe--assuming the cans aren't swollen or out of shape.
