  1. OMG....Turn it into the police now. It s a crime to keep it and they can track it to you...the phone is always sending a signal to the tower...

Call the police and 611....that's customer service on all cell phones.

  2. If I were you I would try to find the owner. Phones are like credit cards, once lost they are usually deactivated by the owner and are useless when trying to get them reactivated by someone else. They can only track the phone if it is GPS capable and the setting is active and not on emergency only.

  3. well the owner is still payin for it u should call a contact like wife or home and notify u found it Cause  YES they could track it lol theyre prolly lookin crazy for it

  4. Yes the phone can be traced by location.  And if you use it the calls you make, recorded (by number).  Since you did not in fact steal it, you could probably continue to use it, hopefully to contact the owner through on of the Faves # ,stored in the phone redial file. Its up to you, be the good guy or be the "Finders Keepers"

  5. The best thing is to always turn it in. If it is branded ie T-Mobille, ATT, Alltel....take it in there and they will do the rest.

  6. don't erase the contacts. using them, you should try to find out and call the owner (or one of their friends, maybe a recently called) and give it back. or maybe the owner will call you. answer and make arrangements to give it back. maybe they'll be grateful and give you a reward. but either way, you did a good deed. if none of the above, it probably won't work for long anyway. they'll most likely have it turned off and locked. depending on the model and carrier, it probably can be tracked and located by GPS. think what you would like someone to do if they found your lost phone. hey good luck.
