I found a centipede in my toilet, how to I treat my water pipes with insecticide? It was about 7 inches long and under the water. It is extremely scary to me and I really am not fond of creatures living in our water pipes. What do I do to make sure he does not come up and bit my butt? Thanks!

  1. lol that is funny

Check your roof vents and make sure they have screens on them.

My guess is it fell down the vent shaft and crawled up into the toilet.

  2. What if you used some toilet bowl cleaner with Clorox bleach?  That should kill that centipede.

  3. The centipede wasn't living in your pipes it was in your house and then drown when it got into the toilet.  If you have only seen one try to forget about it and move on.  if it has family then you should either call an exterminator of set off bug bombs.  Just remember that if you set off the bombs then you have to leave home for several hours or over night.  Read the directions carefully

  4. He didn't come through the water, it crawled up from the room or through a hole in your floor! Caulk around all openings!

Was in toilet seeking a damp place!

  5. i say just flush him, he might have already been in the room and crawled into the toilet. if its a reoccurring thing then look more into it. =]

  6. I would not recomend using insecticide in your toilet, its a contaminant and people will wind up drinking it at some point because believe it or not that water will be treated and re used at some point, if you have a septic tank you still may wind up drinking it, because if your septic tank has a crack it will go into the water table, best advice is not to worry and simply look before you potty
