I found a dead bat in my house

Question

I know I need to get it tested . but can someone give my some idea of where I am supposed to do this or even what I should google in order to find out and also how much if any money it will cost .

You probably need to contact the health department.  They can advise you what to do.  I've heard the shots were expensive but insurance might cover the charges.  Best of luck.

Bat's get a bit of a bad rap. They are not the disease carrying vermon most people think they are. They can be rabid. I would call The Humane Society near you or your city's public health department.

Take it to the vet. Make sure there is no way anymore can get in. Maybe have someone who knows about this kind of stuff, like animal control visit your house.

What do you mean by you "know" you have to get it "tested"?

Tested for what?  Why?

Maybe you could take it to the vet.  I don't know what you want to do with it though.
