Found on dead rat three weeks ago.

I cleaned by schoking the pool with clorine.

Three days ago I found 4 baby rats. One dead three alive.

Would schoking help? or should I consider a more serious treatment? or really change the water?

  1. Super chlorinate the water raising the free chlorine level 10x.  Pay attention to the dose usually 10,000 gallons and proportion to your size pool.  You don't need to change the water, the rat likely drowned.

    You're welcome!!

  2. you should first take out the water and put new one and then if u could and your budget can a animal inspector would be nice if u have a saying to this question just email me hope this helps :]

  3. Shocking the pool takes care of any nastiness left by the rats.  The next step would be setting some traps for those things.

  4. i think you should change the water. or go to the pool place and tell them "i found rats in my pool. what products would get rid of the germs it had or the diseases it carried?" good luck!
