I think I figured it out through our common ancestors; my great great great granparents are his great great grandparents. I'm not sure I was correct when saying "great-great aunt".

  1. you would be second or third cousins.

  2. Third cousins.

  3. Third cousins.  For his great-grandmother to be your great-great-aunt means that his great grandmother's brother or sister is your great-grandparent.  To determine relationship, you have to go back one more generation to the ancestor that you both have in common, which is the great-grandmother / great-great-aunt's parents.  So his great-great-grandmother is also your great-great-grandmother.

  4. Do you mean his G-Grandmother is your GG Grand Aunt?  This would make you 3rd cousins once removed.

If you meant his G-Grandmother is your Great Grand Aunt, then that would make you third cousins.

    Hope it helps.
