I found it in brackish water. It is not your average "fish". It is clear and jelly-like almost like a jelly fish (it has a little bulb thing going on) , has like eight tentacles, is as small as a tennis ball, suctions onto things and when it suctions, it becomes flat and the tentacles spread out perfectly and kind of plump up. The best part is that when it becomes flat like that, it resembles a beautiful snowflake. Does anyone know what this could be? Its a beautiful creature but Im not sure what it is...

  1. the snowflake octopus

  2. Intriguing indeed, because an octopus is fairly recognisable. But very similar looking and also with 8 arms (not tentacles) and 2 tentacles is the cuttlefish. The specimen you saw may indeed have been clear either naturally or by its ability to change colour to suit its surroundings. However your description is fairly vague, vague enough to include some types of squid as they can vary dramatically in both size and appearance. Without more information I cannot narrow it down more.

  3. it might be an octopus
