Question:

I found a fungus / plant that looks like a translucent white flower in the Adirondack Mountains. Do you know ?

This fungus/plant was found in mid August although I have seen it before at other times of the summer.

  1. there's many many types of albino plants. they don't use chlorophyll like normal plants. hence the color. as i said as there are so many types you'd have to be more specific but i think Indian Pipe is probably the most common. it has a down turned flower and grows to about 3-5 inches or so. oh you may hear it called ghost, or corpse plant.


  2. Sounds like Monotropa uniflora.  Here is a link on it:
