  1. proply a gecko of some sort they eat crickets and other bugs but you shouldn't keep it. because it will die

  2. i would see if it likes any insects or worms like crickets, wax worms ect. then i would put some vegetables in the cage. because most lizards are insectivores.

  3. im not trying to sound offending or brawd but if you knew about lizards it would really help to let it go it was out side origonaly and thats where it should be kept but if you have already made your decision about this there is nothing i can do so go to your lockal pets mart and buy some meal worms or crickets every month or so you should swich between the two to get the perfect balanced diet for your little lizard

  4. Any wild animal doesn't make a good pet. Especially finicky lizards.

  5. u need to release them keeping wild caught lizards is cruel immoral and environmentally reprehensible when a wild animal i removed from its natural environment and put in a confined space it causes massive amounts of stress. this affects herps (reptiles and amphibians) very badly worse than most other orders many die simply from the stress of being in captivity it also weakens there immune system meaning more die from disease. those that survive suffer from stress related behavior disorders, stress related illness and have a shortened life span. there quality of life is pretty bad too

  6. If you live in the US it's prohibited by Federal law to remove a native animal from its natural habitat.

The lizard serves a purpose in the wild, and that's where it needs to stay.  Wild lizards can have parasites and diseases.

Wild caught lizards seldom adjust to captivity, and they die.  Stress enables the immune system to fail, and disease or illness to set upon the lizard.  It's scared, so it's already in stress.

If he has touched your heart and made you want a lizard, then you need to google lizards and see what kind you want.  Once you do that, you need to learn everything about taking care of that type of lizard.  Once you know what he eats, and the habitat is set up, and the cool and warm temperature gradients are set, then that is the time to bring home your new captive born lizard.

I know it's cute, and you'd rather keep him.  But that is not the best thing for the lizard, or for you.  Do the right thing, and let the poor lizard go.  It's already in stress, and afraid.  Let it go before it gets sick.

  7. Your brown backyard lizard will eat the small little bugs you find in your back yard under rocks or plants. Like crickets, worms, rolly pollies and such.

Lizards and most reptiles are born with the instinct to hunt little insects that move.

You would be better off letting the lizard go back outside for it can eat the little bugs that live around your house.

  8. There are hundreds if not thousands of brown lizards in the world. Try telling where you live and giving a better decription, or better yet, a picture.

  9. the lizard knows what to eat and where to find what it eats.  please return right where you found it.  wild-caught lizards do not make good pets and will die if you keep it.
