  1. It might be a monarch caterpillar.....

    Regardless of what kind caterpillar it eats your plants.....they can be very destructive.

    Some are neat for the butterfly they turn into can be very pretty.


  2. My guess is Pyrrharctia isabella - the wooly bear caterpillar which will grow into an isabella moth. They eat grass and weeds. They are not poisonous, but their fine hairs can cause skin irritation in some people. You may be able to feed it fresh greens until it pupates, but it may become stressed and die in captivity.

  3. For the most part, animals with red, orange, or yellow are usually dangerous. they have those colors to warn predators. like coral snakes and yellow jackets.

    if its furry then dont touch it because it will give you a itchy painful rash. I would strongly suggest you leave it alone but if you are determined to keep it, you can put it in a cage with leaves from the tree/ area you found it on/in then in a few days to a few weeks it will wrap itself up and change into a butterfly or moth or wasp looking thing.
