  1. its not a good idea at all... you shouldnt take him out of his habitat... just leave him be...

  2. It is not a good idea to keep him. Especially if it was not in any danger or hurt. It will be much better where it is. If you really want a turtle find a breeder or pet store that sells captive breed ones.

  3. NO WAY! Leave wildlife where it is. Take only pictures and memories. PLEASE!!

  4. no, but i take it you already took him home didn't you? tsk tsk tsk. just put him back exactly where you found him.

  5. It's NOT a good idea.  Take it back where you found it, and leave it there.

  6. Don't keep him.... it is probably illegal anyway.... just take him back to the exact spot you found him... so he is in his habitat and knows where he is

  7. It's never a good idea to take a wild animal home. They are so used to taking care of themselves and having the great wild to roam that it will most likely die on you within a few weeks. Though I would suggest a turtle or tortoise as a great pet if you have the drive to do it. They can be time consuming, and at first a little costly. But I would suggest that you take the painter back to where you found him so that he can go back to his family and get on with his life.

  8. A painted turtle wandering around on land away from water probably isn't a him, and needs to be left alone so she can lay her eggs and carry on with her life. There's plenty of captive bred turtles available, why don't you do a bit of research on what all is needed to keep a turtle happy and healthy in captivity and then look into getting one that was hatched in a cage rather than caging a wild one.

  9. Its just like taking something from being born and raised in a tank and letting it go in a forest or anywhere outside. They are not used to it and will die.
